About

Welcome to She Oak Studio, located on the south coast of NSW on our beautiful property "Casuarina".

My journey as an artist has been shaped by exploring a wide range of artistic mediums. The tactile nature of my art comes from a long career in floristry, learning the value of texture and form while celebrating the sensory experience that comes from engaging with natural material, while also laying  the groundwork for three-dimensional art.

Further study in fine arts, led me to be a modest commissioned animal portraitist. A disciplined practice that deepened my understanding of colour, form and expression.

Creating in this medium/style has been an organic transition for me and I feel most fluid when interacting with natural materials. Nature in all its facets never cease to amaze, and inspire me to create these unique artworks.

Process

My Artistic process is deeply rooted in the natural world, utilizing foraged materials that I collect during my travels and explorations.

This journey begins with the mindful act of foraging, where I connect with the enviroment and discover the unique textures and forms that nature provides. Each piece of material carries its own story and energy, which I honour throughout the creative process.

The journey from finding to finished artwork is holistic and intuitive. Sometimes I may hold onto found items for extended periods, waiting for the right moment, when they reveal their potential to me. Other times, inspiration strikes immediately, and the idea flows seamlessly from the material itself.

This dynamic interplay between nature and creativity is central to my work. It is a celebration of the organic relationship we share with our surroundings and the beauty that emerges when we embrace the rhythms of the natural world.
